Who Knew Cauliflower Could Be So Good?

Cauliflower is one of the less glamorous vegetables. I know what you are thinking and I would argue that yes, there are glamorous vegetables. For instance, eggplant is smooth, shiny and beautiful (don't deny it!). Avocados make any Mexican dish better, artichokes spice up your traditional salad, pasta, or dip, and asparagus wrapped in bacon is an unbeatable appetizer. When I think of cauliflower, though, I think of a broccoli wannabe. When it's steamed it does have a pleasant subtle nutty flavor, but that's really all I could give it.

....Until my roommate, Natalie, made the most delicious (and simple!) cauliflower dish the other night. She made cauliflower with almonds, raisins, and capers. I wish I could say that I contributed to the dish, but I happened home just before it hit the table.
