POP!...I'm in New Haven!

POP! is the aptly titled musical about Andy Warhol and his "Factory" cohorts, loosely based on the whodunnit of his non-lethal shooting. It is playing in New Haven, CT at the Yale Repertory Theater and I was fortunate enough to see it this past weekend.

It was a wonderful night, not only because the play was legitimately entertaining but also because a quick escape from the city cannot be underestimated. I have relatives that live in New Haven so the minute I stepped out of the train station I was whisked to a delicious dinner and then accompanied to the play.

Which brings up another reason it was a great night: it is nice to be treated. Thank God for family...even though I like to feel like a fiercely independent woman living in New York City, I melt with joy from the generous hand of a gratuit meal and a comped ticket. Maybe I'm not such an adult just yet.

Plus, there's not much more that can cheer me up besides choreographed dancing and tight harmonies. All in all, it was a solid Saturday night.
